# Writer’s Log, 25/10/13: First Draft Done!

Today I completed the first, rough, draft of my book about consumer health technology. I’ve now got a 70,000 word document sitting inside my computer. 12 chapters. A friend suggested I print it out, so it feels like a real book. I think I’ll do that, to feel the weight of paper on my fingertips!

I don’t want to get ahead of myself though. Next up is editing and re-writing, which will be a big task. I’ve learned a lot about writing a book throughout this year, so some of the early chapters in particular will need to be re-written.

My next milestone target is to have the final draft ready by the end of this year.
