# Lightweight browsers

I’ve installed the W3C web browser/editor, [Amaya](https://web.archive.org/web/20040306094844/http://www.w3.org/Amaya/), onto my PC. I’ve only just begun to test it. But with all this talk about [Microsoft abandoning its IE browser](https://web.archive.org/web/20040306094844/http://rss.com.com/2100-1032_3-1011859.html?type=pt&part=rss&tag=feed&subj=news), it may pay to actively look at alternative browsers. [This article at freshmeat.net](https://web.archive.org/web/20040306094844/http://freshmeat.net/articles/view/695/) has a good write-up on lightweight browsers, including Amaya.
